The roots of the Hawker 800XP go back to the 1960s and de Havilland’s DH125 Jet Dragon program.  Since then, the design has seen numerous improvements to what became arguably the most successful variant.  The combination of range, cabin, runway performance, and operating cost helped fill a niche that was not yet filled in the business jet market.  As a result, the 800XP was an important ingredient to NetJets’ rapid growth in the mid-1990s.  The 800XP fleet grew to over 450 aircraft between 1995 and 2006.  Current corporate operators include Rockwell Automation and Norfolk Southern.

Hawker 800XP Buying Guide

The Hawker 800XP is only available used on the open market.  Due to the creeping age of the fleet, careful consideration should be given to pending maintenance and overhauls which can be costly.  In 2002, the 800XP began delivering with ProLine 21 avionics which are a preferred avionics package.  Aftermarket winglets are also available to increase range and fuel efficiency.  An optional maintenance service plans for engines (Honeywell MSP or JSSI) is also available.
