Bombardier Global Express XRS

Overview

The Bombardier Global Express XRS is the second iteration in the Bombardier Global Express series.  Versus the Global Express, the XRS added another 100nm of range, better performance at “high and hot” airports, and improved cabin comfort.  Deliveries began in 2005 and ended in 2012 when the XRS was rebranded as the Global 6000.  Over its eight year production run, the XRS delivered 166 aircraft.  Current corporate operators of the XRS include General Electric and Kohler.

Global Express XRS Buying Guide

The Global Express XRS is only available pre-owned on the open market.  A number of options are available to include safety enhancements like heads-up display (HUD) and enhanced visions system (EVS).   Cabin options are also plentiful to include cabin layout, internet access, and cabin entertainment systems.  For aircraft nearing 10 years of age, careful consideration should be given to the “8C” inspection which can be costly and timely.   For those with pending inspections or overhauls, an optional maintenance service plan (Bombardier Smart Parts) will mitigate some cost.  Engine maintenance plans for the engines (Rolls Royce Corporate Care) are also available.

Common competitors: Falcon 7X, Gulfstream G550
