Gulfstream G150

Overview

In 2001, Gulfstream expanded its product line by acquiring Galaxy Aerospace which included the Astra, Astra SP and Astra SPX. The original Astra had been in production between 1986 and 1990, the SP between 1990 and 1995 and the SPX between 1995 and 2001. Gulfstream renamed the Astra the G100 and oversaw the production of 22 units between 2001 and early 2006. All three successive versions of the Astra were always known for range and economy but lacked the cabin space that most mid-size airplane. Gulfstream added a foot to the cabin width and 2 inches to the height of the G150, eliminating the main criticism of the narrow cabin in the Astra and G100.  The oval cross-section design gives passengers better headroom versus traditional circular cross-sections.  The G150 fleet is over 100 aircraft and corporate operators include Sanderson Farms and Hendricks Motorsports.
