Pete Agur is the Managing Director and Founder of The VanAllen Group. As sole owner, Pete is responsible for the strategic direction of the firm, its marketing efforts as well as a variety of select client projects. His ability to work as a peer with C-suite executives as well as operational staff members, combined with extensive practical experience in practical applications creates an essential foundation for successful client results. The depth and breadth of his knowledge, and his ability to be innovative, create an extremely flexible approach for working with clients.
Prior to founding The VanAllen Group in 1993, Pete began his consulting career in 1985 as a member of the highly respected Mescon Group, a leading organization design consulting firm. From 1973 through 1985 he was a highly successful marketing manager and sales representative for four domestic and international airframe manufacturers. He started his aviation career in 1968 as an Army aviator and safety officer during the Viet Nam era.

Pete’s industry involvement is extensive. He was the Flight Safety Foundation's Corporate Advisory Committee Vice-Chairman, a member of the National Business Aviation Association’s Corporate Aviation Management Committee and Corporate Aviation Safety Committee, and is on the Business Aviation Advisory Panel for The Robb Report. Pete has been the chairman of NBAA Convention local committee, was instrumental in the start of the Schedulers and Dispatchers Conference and founded the NBAA Leadership Conference. Pete is a member of the Society of Aerospace Communicators and the Aviation Speakers Bureau. He is a guest lecturer and keynote speaker at universities, colleges, and industry programs. He has over 40 articles published or cited in a wide variety of magazines, including FORTUNE, The Wall Street Journal, Business Aviation Management Journal, AeroSafety World, Business Aviation Safety Journal, BusinessJet Traveler, Flying Magazine, Career Pilot, and Professional Pilot.
Pete holds an MBA from Georgia State University and a BS (summa cum laude) in Aeronautical Sciences from Denver's Metropolitan State College. In the fall of 2006, Pete received his Certified Aviation Manager (CAM) designation from the National Business Aviation Association. He holds an ATP for fixed wing, commercial helicopter and private glider ratings. He is also a former military, airline and civil flight and ground instructor.
